Our new PR and Marketing intern.

Hi! I’m Gemma and I joined the team at Lost Words Game yesterday! My background is quite eclectic. The most experience I have in gaming is getting to level 1867 on candy crush and mastering Rainbow Road on Mario Kart. Luckily, my internship isn’t about game development. If it was, I would have been found out in the interview. I have worked in retail, a school, a restaurant and now here. My expertise is more with social media and blogging.

Before starting this internship, I worked in a restaurant in East Mersea as a chef part time for one year. Prior to that I was studying at the University of Essex for my MA in Creative Writing, while working at a school. I almost started my teacher training, but, I was unsure as to what I wanted to do with my life, so I went back to uni to get some clarity. The thing I took from my second uni experience was that teaching was not for me and I did the right thing in not pursing a career there! Blogging was one of my passions and something I wanted to pursue. Which is why this internship is great for me; I get to test out something new for me and offer suggestions, feedback and reach out to a wide audience.

I also manage all social media accounts for a small business in Mersea and have time building that. If you’re trying to market anything, it’s all about gaining momentum. It’s vital that your followers/ consumers believe in the product and the person who is selling it. I’m hoping that during my time here, I will  build a new following, provide snippets of the game and also obtain feedback from you. Ultimately, that is what will help us provide you with a game that you want to play.

Aims and targets.

Social media is a powerful tool for any business, therefore, it is vital there is a strong presence. We want to provide our supporters with the right information and engaging with you. My aim is to increase our online presence and showing what you have to look forward to when Lost Words is released in 2019. My main focus will be providing followers with insights to the game so you can see how it is improving and developing. We also want to showcase what makes Lost Words unique and worth investing in.

I believe customer feedback is key to producing something worth buying/ parting with your money for. One plan is to get your feedback through via social media and make the finished article something we believe in.
